Ms. Wesley has maintained a successful private teaching studio since 1996. She has worked with students of all ages and levels, and has helped them achieve their goals through audition and role preparation, musical skills study, diction coaching, and solid technique. Many of her students have gone on to major in music at such schools as Indiana University, the University of Illinois, Ball State University, Baldwin-Wallace, Illinois Wesleyan, Illinois State University, North Central College, and many other esteemed institutions. Her students have shown success through their placement in competitions, Superior ratings in Solo & Ensemble events, choir placements, All-State and District placements, and successful casting in productions. She loves working with students on all musical styles, but has a particular interest in Classical and Musical Theatre styles.
As a performer, Ms. Wesley has sung across the United States and Europe on both opera and concert stages. She has been seen in leading roles with American opera companies from Sarasota, Florida to Portland, Oregon including the Midwest companies, Chicago Opera Theater, Des Moines Metro Opera, Lyric Opera of Kansas City, Cleveland Opera, Dayton Opera, and Michigan Opera Theater. Some of the featured roles which she has performed are Mimi in La Boheme, Fiordiligi in Cosi fan Tutte, Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni, Tosca in Tosca, and Marguerite in Faust. On the concert stage, Ms. Wesley has been a featured soloist in works such as Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9, Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915, Mendelssohn’s Elijah, Handel’s Messiah, and the Requiems of Mozart, Brahms, Faure, and Verdi. Ms. Wesley made her Carnegie Hall debut as the soprano soloist in Haydn’s Creation, and returned the next year to sing the soprano solo in Symphony No. 1-A Sea Symphony by Vaughn Williams. Ms. Wesley received her Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Arizona State University and her Master of Music in Vocal Performance from Indiana University where she studied with Virginia Zeani. Ms. Wesley has won numerous honors including 1 st place in the Central Region Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions and was a National Finalist in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Ms. Wesley is a member of the National Association of Teachers of Singing, the American Guild of Musical Artists, the Music Teachers National Association, the American Choral Directors Association, and Sigma Alpha Iota, a national music fraternity.
